On Counter-Design
A while ago I stumbled across this photo taken by Zara AKA CommandZed of Punchcut in SF, which shows a sadly typical gay-bashing* message we would expect to see adorning a placard waved by a bigot. The truly curious aspect is the rather delightful hand crafted – presumably – constructivist influenced typography. I decided it was unfair that such negative message have sole use of such typography, and crafted a counter-poster in retaliation! 
I replicated the some of letter-forms as best I could, but didn’t conform to the original too closely. All in all I believe I ended up making four different weights and four different styles, which I may one day turn into an actual font. I’m planning on having a limited edition run of posters printed – the question is, would any fine people out there be interested in buying them?
Update: I’ve been informed that this particular individual protests against pre-marital sex (amongst other things) not homosexuality in particular. However, his placard does clearly state his stance on several issues. Apologies for any confusion!
